CEREC One Visit CrownsWhy go to the dentist more than you have to? At the Michigan Avenue, Illinois Dental Arts location, we offer CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics), one-visit crown technology; this allows the entire process of getting a crown to be done in a single appointment, start to finish. Traditional dental restorative methods require more than one visit to the dentist. This means that on the first visit, you get an injection of anesthesia, your tooth prepared, an impression taken, and a temporary restoration put on your tooth. You make a second appointment for a couple of weeks later, possibly get another injection, have the temporary removed and a permanent restoration put on. CEREC restoration can be performed in a single session, usually in about one hour. With CEREC there's no need for us to make an impression and send it to a lab. We won't inconvenience you by asking you to return for a second visit. The restoration is natural looking, because it is made of tooth-colored ceramic material. It's metal-free – no silver fillings to discolor your smile! The ceramic material is compatible with tissue in your mouth and is high-grade, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant.
